Spiritual Warfare

We're in the midst of it here. I know many people think it's not real. I know many who would like to believe it is farce. I, on the other hand, have seen spiritual warfare firsthand. I have felt that uneasiness that looms, the heaviness that bears down and makes your skin crawl. I have witnessed some frightening things in my short 34 years. I've visited places where I could *feel* demonic presence. It's unnerving. A battle is waging and I feel as though we are in the midst of it.

"The Christian home is in battle with Satan, just as the individual believer is. The enemy will use any device for dividing us, for destroying our peace, for breaking down our communication, for leading us away from God. When he defeats us personally in any way...he gets his foot in the door of our homes. We are in spiritual battle every day of our lives; we must recognize it for what it is.

We must be armed. We must know what God has to say about us. Equipped with that knowledge, protection, and strength, we won't need to fall victim to Satan's assaults on us."

Norma Kvindlog and Esther Lindgren Anderson

There is wonderful news though. God has already defeated Satan! And my trusty Bible is a fountain of wisdom and encouragement. God has sealed me with His Holy Spirit. I am His. Satan has no authority over me. None. I have that truth to stand on. I admit that it is unsettling right now, but I have God on my side. He is the Truth, the Light, and the Way.

"But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." (1 John 4:4)

I am finding myself pouring over my Bible. I'm drinking it in.

"And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world." (1 Peter 1:5-7)

Amen!

Praying...

Wow! I can completely identify, I've found through the years, the Holy Spirit will at times communicate the same message to more than one person. I felt the need to get on my knees and pray several times in the past 24-48 hours and this is what I've been hearing. We (my family and all of the members of the body of Christ) are at war. Yes, despite his attacks we do have victory and satan is underfoot.

Thank you Valerie. And yes Sergelane, I have felt the same way for the past couple of weeks. Last night I stayed up half the night praying. I felt a great burden to pray over my family's spiritual protection.

And Amen, satan is underfoot!
